Concerts probably were hard on my Mom, mostly because she had to keep several little
children quiet for a long period of time. Concerts were harder than Church. In our Church people usually understood a momentary outburst from a young child, but a concert had to be dead quiet. At concerts, our family usually sat very near the front so my Dad could get up and take the best possible picture from the best possible angle. That made it doubly hard to keep the children quiet and a longer escape route should a child act up. Sure, she usually had older children who could take a crying baby out to the foyer, but it was the responsibility factor to consider. It was her child that was acting up.
