Back in the 1970s, Dad took Karen to try out for the Granite Junior Youth Symphony when she was ending her sixth grade year. He instructed her to act and think like she was the best and she would be the best. She made it in as the youngest player ever in that organization. She did very well in that through junior high and went on to the Granite Youth Symphony in high school.
